Wayland Baptist University offers an opportunity for Registered Nurses to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing through online courses. The Wayland Baptist University School of Nursing is committed to educating students in an academically challenging and distinctively Christian environment for professional success, lifelong learning and service to God and humankind. The department of nursing strives to prepare baccalaureate nursing graduates that are competent and caring in the delivery of patient care in a diverse health care environment. Our program is dedicated to giving students who take online courses the same attention as traditional face to face students as well as providing them with professional academic learning experiences.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) provides a Registered Nurse the ability to complete an online Bachelor of Science in Nursing in one year full-time or two years part-time. The student completes 73-75 semester credit hours of prerequisite coursework, of which 42 hours must be completed prior to beginning the program.

Students wanting to enroll in the bachelor of science in nursing online program must also take the National League for Nursing RN Mobility Ace II Exam which will give them 28 semester credit hours of upper-level nursing credit. Students will complete the program with 30 semester credit hours of upper-level nursing courses.

Many Registered Nurses enroll in online classes in order to fit education into busy schedules. Online classes provide a great deal of flexibility for work, family, and school. Online courses also allow everyone to participate in class discussions through forums and commenting on posted projects. Online courses allow Nurses to earn a degree when they would have been unable to in a traditional setting.
