MASTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (M.P.A.)
The Master of Public Administration is designed to prepare both public and non-public employees for a career and/or promotion in administration with the choice of governmental administration, homeland security, or justice administration fields. MGMT 3304 (Principles of Management) or its substantial equivalent is an absolute requirement prior to registering for any graduate level MGMT class. The Dean of the School of Business will determine whether any class other than principles of management
is “substantial equivalent.” With proper documentation, up to twelve (12) hours of graduate
business course credit may be awarded toward the M.P.A. degree requirements from successful completion and official documentation of Intermediate and/or Senior Education Levels of the Military Services of the United States of America.
Students may take and receive credit for two special topics courses in their specialization area as long as the topics are different.
Admission Requirements(In Addition to Those Listed for All Graduate
Students) - Applicants interested in the M.P.A. program must first present a completed baccalaureate degree, preferably but not limited to, the social or behavioral sciences.
Course Requirements - 37 hours are required including 19 core hours and 18 hours
of specialization courses in government administration, homeland secuirty, or justice adminitration.
