Permits

Anyone who drives a motor vehicle on the Wayland campus during business hours must have a valid permit displayed on the vehicle. By accepting a Wayland parking permit, the driver acknowledges understanding and acceptance of all Wayland traffic and parking rules and regulations.

  • Permit holders are responsible for their car under all circumstances, and other drivers of the car should be informed of Wayland parking rules to ensure no citation will be received. A citation received by a driver other than the permit holder will not be voided and the permit holder is responsible for paying the fine.
  • Those registrants attending night classes only are not required to have a permit.
  • Any vehicle parked on Wayland property may be subject to search if banned/controlled substances are suspected to be in the vehicle.

Display of Permits

The permit is to be displayed in the lower right hand corner (passenger side) of the front windshield, opposite the state inspection sticker, in clear, unobstructed view.

  • The permit must be displayed as intended by the manufacturer to be considered valid (the entire sticker--with all paper removed--must be attached to the windshield).
  • Improperly displayed permits are in violation of university traffic and parking regulations and may be ticketed.
Parking Zones

  • A-zone parking slots are reserved strictly for Wayland faculty and staff.
    • An A-zone permit is required to park in A-zone. The permit may be obtained at the Traffic and Parking Offices, located at 709 Xenia. When picking up the permit, the applicant must have valid proof of being employed by Wayland.
    • A-zone permits have access to C-zone and D-zone, but are urged to park in A-zone when available.
    • No other permits are allowed to park in A-zone and will be ticketed if found doing so.
  • C-zone is reserved for commuters.
    • Commuters may park in designated C-zone slots, but not in A-zone or D-zone.
    • Failure to park in C-zone will result in receiving a citation.

    • Students with D-zone permits may park in designated D-zone spaces only.
    • Failure to park in D-zone will result in receiving a citation.
